The carnival was held at the Sports Ground on Friday August 12 with students from all Bathurst public schools and the combination of the small schools competing.
Carnival manager Peter Hanlon said from the eight schools more than 100 students have qualified for Western Region to compete in Dubbo on September 2.
“The carnival was very successful,” he said.
“Some of the records broken were broken by a considerable amount and had stood for a long time.
“The students who placed first, second and third in all events expect high jump will now compete against other NSW regions next month.”
High jump has minimum qualifying heights and if the top three students do not reach the mark, they can not qualify for Western high jump.
“We are sending three relay teams and hoping to see similar success at Western in September,” Hanlon said.
Drew Cigliano, Grace Schumacher and Kate Kennedy all broke records including the junior girls shot put which was a decade old.
Schumacher of Eglinton Public beat the previous shot put record or 7.11 metres with an enormous 7.90 metres.
Bathurst Public student Kate Kennedy now holds the senior girls discuss record throwing 26.12 metres compared to the 2003 record of 22.48 metres.
The only male record to crumble was the 11 years boys long jump.

Overall Eglinton Public produced the most champions and took the title for the most successful school.
