NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian met with staff, volunteers and clients at the centre on Tuesday where she praised their work and the popular facility which delivers services in aged care, disability and carer support.
From the funding, $20,500 would be used to trial a health and wellness program and $10,000 would help the centre build a new awning in the back garden.
Bathurst MP Paul Toole was there for the premier’s announcement and said it would be a great benefit for the centre.
“Bathurst Seymour Centre has been around for 38 years and aims to help people in the Bathurst region, not just live independently but also participate in community life,” he said.
“There is always something going on at the Seymour Centre, with the centre hosting daily events and organising outings for locals.”
Ms Berejiklian said she was thrilled to announce the funding.
“The dedicated staff and skilled and caring volunteer team at Bathurst Seymour Centre are truly inspiring and it was a privilege to spend some time with them and learn more about the incredible work they do,” she said.
