More than 130 talented dancers came from as far away as Guyra, Nyngan, Wagga Wagga, Canberra, Ulladulla, Coffs Harbour and the Sydney region for the ball at the Goldfields Function Centre at Mount Panorama.
“We even had elite dancers from Victoria who travelled up to attend, as well as dancers from around the local area and many places in between,” Keith Francis of the Bathurst Old Time/Nu-Vogue dance group said.
“The guests were seated to a two-course buffet dinner and everyone danced to the wonderful music of Phil and Esther from Parkes.”

The theme for this year’s ball was gold and black to fit in with the Goldfields.
“It was wonderful to see that so many dancers dressed to that theme,” Mr Francis said.
The guests that stayed in the city were treated to a casual after ball dance at the Bathurst High School gym the next day.
“They caught up with friends and enjoyed another swing around the floor with music supplied by Barry’s Country Vogue from Cowra,” Mr Francis said.
He said the dance group has already started planning for next year’s ball to be held on August 24, 2019.
