Rick Kelly will race in a Castrol Racing tribute livery for the Great Race, as the team pays tribute to the 25th anniversary of Larry Perkins’ 1993 triumph.
“Larry is a real legend of our sport and a lot of his most famous moments were at Bathurst,” Rick Kelly said.
“To win three times in five years is a remarkable performance. This livery is a definitely a fan favourite and something I am honoured to be racing in. I hope 2018 will be the fourth victory for this design.

“It was a special moment to have Larry walk in to his old workshop to see the car.
“I grew up watching Larry race and this is without doubt one of the key highlights of my career sharing this moment with him.”
Kelly Racing/Nissan Motorsport was born out of the Castrol Perkins Racing Moorabbin workshop.
Perkins took victory a total of six times during his 26-year career around Mount Panorama, with the classic Castrol Sawtooth design greeting the chequered flag first on three occasions.
“We were in a position to take over Larry’s operation in 2009 and with that, we also inherited much of his crew,” Kelly said.
“There’s no added pressure racing in this sort of car, I mean, the event itself applies more than enough pressure as it is. I only hope Garry [Jacobson] and I do Larry and the classic Castrol livery proud.”
Kelly and Jacobson will hit the track for practice next Thursday ahead of the weekend’s action.
