He is among thousands of face fans who have set up camp around the iconic circuit ahead of the Bathurst 1000.
Mr Healy has travelled from Sydney every year for the Great Race since 1990 and he said it was a great opportunity to catch up with his sons who live in Bathurst.
In his early days of attending the Bathurst 1000 and camping atop Mount Panorama he said it was not a suitable environment for families, but that has now changed for the better.
“I did it in the feral times when I was younger but now it’s great because I can bring the kids,” Mr Healy said.
“We all bring out kids now.”
Mr Healy’s camp site is in the Reid and Sulman Campground on top of the Mount and there are dozens of people in his group who also make the annual pilgrimage to Bathurst for Race Week.
“We’ve all been coming since the early days and we all look out for each other,” he said.
“Everyone who camps around us, we’ve got people coming from across Australia and also Shanghai and Singapore.”
