Housler was three up after nine holes and cruising to victory, before Ferris mounted a fightback to win two holes and put the match back on a more even keel.

On the 14th hole both players got into some trouble but managed to recover and the hole was halved.
The long par five 15th saw both players do excellent drives from the tee.

This gave Housler the edge and she went on to win the hole and go 3 up, putting her within one hole of victory and needing to just halve it.
On the 16th hole Housler drove into a bunker and Ferris responded with a super shot into the middle of the green.
However, a great recovery from Housler meant that the hole was halved and match then over.
At the following presentation both players were congratulated for getting to the final and playing the match in great spirit.
Prizes for the winner and runner up were donated by Peg Oliver and the trophy was donated by Chelsea Litchfield.
Oliver, 93-years-old and a golfer for over 50 years, was on hand to present the prize.
The weekend match play Cup was introduced this year to offer an exciting new event for Bathurst Women Golfers who play on the weekend – designed to be fast, flexible and fun.
Eight players qualified for the event. The first two rounds were played over nine holes while the final was played over 18 holes.
“I was thrilled with the interest in the event,” Bathurst Women Golfers captain Jane Mitchell said.
“All who played told me that they really enjoyed the experience of match play and they want the event to run again next year.
“The hole by hole competition is very different from the regular golf played on the weekends. It requires not only good golfing skills but also real mental toughness.”
