Over the first two months of the new season the club will be running regular training sessions for women on Saturday mornings while giving members the opportunity to take part in additional run and swim squads.
The recruitment drive starts in earnest this Saturday morning when Wallabies members help run Bathurst parkrun.
The program’s beginning coincides with the start of the new triathlon season at Cowra this Sunday, where the first round of the Inter Club series will be held.
Wallabies vice-president Luke Patterson said the club is excited to get a new season underway.
“We’ve designed a program to encourage women who are interested in sport to get involved,” he said.
“That will start on Saturday morning at parkrun, where we will take over all of the volunteer roles. We’ll get as many club members down there as possible to run the event then meet back at the clubhouse for a barbecue.
“We’ll be holding a Q & A session there, where we’ll get some of our existing members to explain what the sport’s all about and what their experiences have been like.”

The regular training sessions will involve a ride, starting from the clubhouse on Stanley Street, followed by the weekly five kilometre Bathurst parkrun at Peace Park.
The additional squad work will be carried out by trainer Dan Benton.
Thanks to the $2,500USD of funding, any members can join up to Benton’s squad work and the costs will be covered.
Benton will also be a part of this Saturday’s Q & A session to help give training tips.
There will be a women’s only round of Bathurst Triathlon Club racing on December 2.
Before that happens the immediate focus will turn to this Sunday’s Inter Club race in Cowra.

“There’s been quite a bit of interest from our members and there’s a been a lot of enquires,” Patterson said.
“We’re expecting a very healthy turnout for Sunday.
“For us the Inter Club series is about participation and getting our members to travel and showing everyone that it’s a lot of fun to race in different places.”
Bathurst has maintained its Australia Day date for its Inter Club race in 2019.
Other events on the calendar are Mudgee (November 18), Forbes (December 9), Orange (February 17) and Dubbo (March 3).
