Held at Woollahra Oval, Easts went on to win the competition, downing country side Walcha in the final.
Walcha is a side that CSU managed to defeated in the pool stage, as they students went undefeated before being knocked out of the competition in the quarter finals.
Many old faces return to play for the students and even 2018 coach Luke Kelly got a run.
“We did pretty well,” team manager Lincoln Sterlington said.
“We had some the old boys to fill in, including Tom Greenaway, Cam Backhouse and Matt Findlay.
“We didn’t do any training. We just met down in Sydney, had a crack and we went pretty good.”
“Easts ended up winning the whole thing, but we came close.
“It was a good, fun tournament.”
CSU scored right at the end of the match, but the students were unable to convert from the sideline, meaning Easts survived a late scare.
Former St Stanislaus’ College students now Easts players Daniel Donato and Tom Bartlett also had a run with the CSU boys.
The tournament is named after late Easts colts player Nick Tooth.
Rugby tens varies from normal rugby, with only 10 players instead of the regular 15.
The two flankers, the number 8, one winger and one centre are positions dropped from a regular rugby lineup.
