The Bathurst hockey talent was last week named in the New South Wales open women’s indoor team to contest the national titles next January.
And while Bunt has been a mainstay of the state indoor outfit for a number of years, her most recent selection is still one she treasures.
“You get a thrill every time to see your name there, so it’s good,” she said.

Bunt’s latest NSW selection comes on the back of an impressive performance for Bathurst at the state indoor titles earlier in the month.
Bathurst contested the division one tier of competition and while missing out on the semi-finals, still held its own against strong opposition.
Bathurst only lost one match at the Goulburn based titles, going down 4-2 to eventual runners-up Metro South West.
Its other results were a 4-3 win over the hosts, a commanding 7-1 victory against Illawarra South Coast and a pair of draws in their matches with North Sydney and Beaches (4-all) and North West Sydney (1-all).
“I played well and really enjoyed the weekend ... I loved all the game play there, it was really tough, really strong and some really tough opponents,” Bunt said.
“It was great to see that Bathurst can mix it with the best teams too.
“The only other member of that Bathurst side who is really an indoor player is my sister Rebecca [Lee], she still plays for ACT, she’ll play opens for ACT at nationals.
“It was nice to have her play alongside me again. It’s more often that I’m playing against her now than with her, so it’s exciting when I get to play with her, it’s always really good fun.”
When Bunt’s NSW outfit comes up against Lee’s ACT team at the nationals in Goulburn, it should be a gripping contest.
At this year’s nationals NSW went in as defending champions, but lost the bronze medal match 3-1 to ACT with Lee amongst the goal scorers for her side.

Still, Bunt expects NSW to rank among the favourites for the title come the January 23-26. She will also do her best to impress national selectors once again.
“New South Wales always seems to be the team to beat, so there is that little bit of pressure, but I think we do always step up to the mark and handle that pressure quite well,” she said.
“There’s always some Aussie tours that are on during the year, nothing has been announced yet, nothing has been set in stone, but I’m always ready to put my hand up for any sort of Australian selection.”
