That second-wicket stand helped Bathurst to an eight-wicket win against Mudgee in Mudgee.
With Bathurst bowling superbly, knocking over Mudgee for 93 runs, the match was then controlled by the visiting top order.
Bathurst openers Charlie Harris and Tim Currie got off to great starts in the chase with an opening wicket partnership of 31 runs.
After Currie was stumped for nine, Tom Siede came to the crease and along with Harris, delivered a match-winning partnership, which included four boundaries.
The pair put on 61 runs before Harris was caught out just two runs short of the required target.
But Nash Hutchings came in and very soon after, those runs were scored to hand Bathurst another win in the annual competition.
“The openers did a really good job. They withstood the opening bowlers and got us through to lunch and then the weaker bowlers came on. Charlie was able to take advantage of that,” Bathurst coach Dave Currie said.
While the batting impressed, the victory was only possible after a excellent performance in the field that limited Mudgee to a low total.

Tait Borgstahl and Ethan Comerford made significant contributions to the bowling attack, both bagging three wickets while conceding minimal runs.
Charlie Hutchings went for only 15 runs off seven overs, which also included one wicket, while Jonathan Nicholls snared two victims off his four overs as the entire Bathurst attack proved economical.
“I was really pleased with the way the team supported each other and played so well. Mudgee have some good players and the opening bowlers did their job and after 10 overs Mudgee had scored very few runs then got a few wickets after that. To bowl them out for 93 far exceeded my expectations,” coach Currie said.
Round three will see these two sides clash again on December 16.
