Bobbi Ralls, who recently graduated from Denison College Bathurst High Campus, has received the Queen’s Guide Award in recognition of her consistent and hard-working efforts in the community as a girl guide.
The Queen’s Guide Award is the peak achievement award for youth members of Guides Australia.
Bobbi received the award from NSW Governor David Hurley at a ceremony at Sydney’s Government House back in September, and was recognised locally at the Girl Guides’ recent ‘Agnes’ Birthday’ event.
“It’s always great to see our girl guides recognised because you know they’ve put in a lot of effort outside of our meeting times,” Bathurst Girl Guides acting district manager Lesley Buchan said.
In addition to Bobbi’s achievements, four junior members from the Girl Guides have received Junior BP Awards, which recognise the achievements of younger guides within the six fundamentals of guiding.
The Junior BP Awards went to Gemma Speer, Jasmyn Nankervis, Emma Thompson and Scarlett Weaver.
“It’s all about building the girls towards citizenship and leadership,” Ms Buchan said.
“The award requires the girls to complete two challenges in the fundamentals of guiding, and it is entirely up to them to challenge themselves.”
Bathurst Girl Guides have units for girls aged 7 to 17, and are always out to welcome any new members.
