After an impressive third placing in the world class enduro last year, the Black Swan Racing Porsche 911 looks no chance of making it to the start line this Sunday.
Just five minutes into the practice session, with Tim Pappas behind the wheel, the #540 entry lost control at The Chase and slammed into the wall.
While Pappas was able to walk away from the incident, which at one stage saw the distinctive green Porsche on fire, the extensive rear damage means it is almost certainly going to be ruled out.
Earlier, in the practice session for the non-professional drivers, the#3 Audi Sport Team PC R8 LMS also sustained damage with an incident at The Chase. It too is unlikely to start Sunday’s race.

They were not the only entries to be damaged either.
Both the #888 Mercedes AMG, driven by Shane van Gisbergen, and the #51 Ferrari with Paul Dalla Lana went off track on the approach to Murrays Corner.
Dalla Lana’s car slammed into the wall on the left side of the track and sustained extensive front end damage, while van Gisbergen’s Mercedes spun backwards on the opposite side.
The #888 took out advertising signage but apart from front-splitter damage, avoided any major damage.
