For the fifth time in his driving career, Reynolds forms part of the driver line-up for the Bathurst 12 Hour. This year it means he gets to steer a Mercedes AMG against a field which includes 12 other big-name manufactures.
“Any time you come back to Bathurst you’re excited,” Reynolds said.
“This race you see all your dream cars rolling around. Ferraris, Bentley, Aston Martin, you know if you can name your favourite car, it’s here.
“The funny thing is that we get to drive them, thrash them, for 12 hours.
“It’s one of the best races of the year.”

Reynolds made his Bathurst 12 Hour debut in 2011, but that year did not go well as Porsche was amongst those with a DNF.
Five years later he returned for his second attempt – this time in a Mercedes – and placed fifth in the Erebus entry he shared with Nico Bastian and Thomas Jager.
In 2017 Reynolds endured another DNF, while last year he helped the Nineteen Corp Mercedes to 15th outright and ninth in the Pro-Am class.
This Sunday Reynolds is hoping he can crack a class podium in the car he shares with Luke Youlden – the man he won the 2017 Bathurst 1000 with – and Yasser Shahin.

Still, Reynolds knows just how hard it is to win an endurance race at Bathurst. His last venture to the Mount for the 2018 Bathurst 1000 saw him suffer from severe cramping due to dehydration late in the race. He went from a potential win to 13th.
“We’ll see how we go, it’s 12 hours of racing, a lot can happen during the race, this race is very, very different to the Supercar race,” he said.
“But we are confident we can do the job.
“Anytime you come back here it’s a good feeling, regardless of your previous result. Last year was massive, massive high and massive, massive low so you know, it’s alright, I’m fine with it, I just don’t want to bring back any bad memories.
“But every time you rock up here you’ve got good, positive memories. It’s an incredible place to be racing around, to be part of and part of history.”
