The school was placed into lockdown on Monday after the 15-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted by another teenager, who was not a student a the school.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene just after 3pm after the 16-year-old entered the school grounds and allegedly punched the victim in the face.
Chifley Police District crime manager Inspector Luke Rankin said police had spoken to both girls and investigations were ongoing.
He said police the 15-year-old told officers she was approached and challenged by the 16-year-old inside a school building.
A spokesperson for Ambulance NSW said one unit responded to the call, with the 15-year-old treated at the scene before being transported to Bathurst Base Hospital in a stable condition.
"Police have spoken to both parties and served banning notices on the 16-year-old and other associates of hers," he said.
"Our inquiries are continuing."
On Tuesday morning, a security guard could be seen outside the entrance of the school, which remained in a lockout status to ensure the safety of all students.
A Department of Education and Denison College spokesperson commended students, staff and visitors for their response to the lockout safety procedure as it evolved.
"The safety procedure was initiated to ensure students’ safety as an incident emerged," he said.
"The prompt response enabled staff to manage the incident effectively.
"Once the incident was managed, a lockout commenced to ensure the safety of our students and visitors.
"Lockouts are one of a number of safety procedures rehearsed regularly by public schools and today’s lockout ran well according to rehearsed plans.
"All gates will remain locked at Bathurst High Campus under our current management plan and to alleviate any parent concerns."
