Since 1976, Mr and Mrs Ross have been running Ross Conifers Garden Nursery as a prime hot spot to view and purchase locally grown conifer trees and cool climate plants.
Having spent many years dedicated to the growth and maintenance of the nursery, the pair is excited to move on to the next chapter.
"We love doing what we do, but we both felt the time was right to retire," Mrs Ross said.
"Running the nursery is a laborious love, and we're looking forward to having more time to spend with friends and family."
Starting life as a wholesaler, the nursery moved to a retail model after noticing that many people with a keen interest in gardening continued to visit the site.
"While we've advertised the business in the media, we've found that many customers have approached our nursery through word of mouth," Mrs Ross said.
"It's been rewarding to see so many people appreciate what we've had to offer."
Situated at Tarana, the nursery has benefited from being in an accessible location for the Bathurst, Lithgow and Oberon communities.
With the nursery set to close its doors in May, Mr and Mrs Ross have expressed their gratitude for all the support they have received throughout the years.
