I know you need to get some speed up going downhill so you can save petrol going uphill. I get that. I sympathise. Drivers like me must be frustrating at times.
But when you have the misfortune to get stuck behind me can you understand that to come up close on my back end and flash your lights at me won't help at all?
I drive a smallish car, to save petrol too. I have an hour's drive home from work. In winter that means driving home in kangaroo happy hour.
IN OTHER NEWS AROUND BATHURST:
If you hit a kangaroo or a wombat you probably hardly feel it. If I hit one I will wreck my car and I might even die. I've hit them before and know how unavoidable they sometimes are. So I drive a bit more carefully from dusk onwards in the attempt not to hit one. That must be very frustrating for you. I feel very anxious driving too fast under those conditions, but you try to force me to do so.
If I get a chance and you are behind me on a downhill run I will always try to let you past. But then I only end up overtaking you on the next uphill, when it is you who are slower than me, and again I have the extreme anxiety of having you up my tail being impatient.
If you actually kill someone and you come in and tell me in my professional role that you are haunted by the accident you cause, you can't sleep, you can't drive any more because of your trauma, I will give you my professional best.
Will you do the same for me and give me your professional best?
