The under 12s girls, under 14s girls, under 15s boys, under 16s boys and under 16s girls all qualified for the tournament, courtesy of their result from Sunday's Western Youth League.

Bathurst District Football coaching coordinator Roy Thomas said the Country Cup, which will be held on the June long weekend, will be a great chance for players to improve their football.

"It's great for Bathurst to have five teams in it and we've always been well represented in general," he said.

"We've also had strong girl teams in the past.

"One of the great things about playing in the Country Cup is it is always great to play against Riverina and Southern, which are both at similar standards of football."

With five teams, Bathurst is the best represented district side at the tournament, which is a good sign for the sport in the region according to Thomas.

"It's really good to have that many teams competing because this shows the great state of football in Bathurst and the Western region," he said.

The Country Cup will feature the best teams from Western, Southern and Riverina, with district sides such as Wagga, Dubbo, Eurobodalla, Shoalhaven, Southern Tablelands, Orange, Lachlan and Griffith all qualified to join Bathurst representative sides at the tournament.

The Country Cup will be hosted a four venues, with the under 12s and under 14s girls to held at Proctor Park from June 8 to 9.

Lady Cutler Fields at Dubbo will host the under 12s and 13s boys, Wagga's Rawlings Park will host the 14s and 15s boys and Berrambool Oval in Merimbula to host both the under 16s boys and girls.

Each team will play all other teams twice, across the two days.

Thomas said one of the reasons the Bathurst District Football put in a bid to host the Country Cup was to utilise some of the recently upgraded facilities at Proctor Park.

"We've got some of the best facilities in the Central West and we want to utilise them as much as we can," he said.

"It also gives a chance for all these players to play on these quality fields, which will no doubt improve their football."

Thomas also said thanks to many of the volunteers involved with the Bathurst District Football junior squads, including several people who put up their hand to coach, regardless of inexperience.

"None of this would be possible without the help of volunteers," he said.

"Even some of the coaches didn't have kids playing in their team."
