According to data from Weatherzone, the average temperature in Bathurst across the last month was 0.6 degrees warmer than what the region historically has seen.
Meteorologist Jacob Cronje said that, interestingly, Bathurst saw both its hottest May day in years and its coldest.
Last Thursday (May 30), became the coldest May day since 2011 when the temperature got to 7.8 degrees Celsius.
On May 1, Bathurst had its hottest day since 2013 with a maximum of 21.3 degrees.
"It was interesting; you had your hottest day in a few years and your coldest day in a few years, but generally it was hotter," Mr Cronje said.
In terms of rainfall, Bathurst recorded more rain than the same month in 2018, but it was still down on the long-term average rainfall figure of 41.4 millimetres.
Last month, there was a total of 34.4mm recorded.
The rainfall, while lower than the average, was significantly higher than what was recorded in April.
Just 0.6mm fell into the gauge then, making it the second-driest April on record for Bathurst.
Mr Cronje said the seasonal outlook indicated Bathurst was set to experience more dry conditions in the coming months.
"June is going to be particularly dry, so [rainfall] is very likely to be below average," he said.
For June, the long-term average rainfall for Bathurst is 44.7mm. Bathurst has already received 2mm this month, recording on June 3.
Mr Cronje added that July was expected to produce more rain, but still remain around the long-term average for that month.
To date, Bathurst has received 306.6mm of rain throughout 2019, recorded over 34 days.
This figure is slightly higher than the average rainfall to June, which is 304mm.
It is significantly better than the figure that was recorded in the same period last year, which was 177.5mm.
