Dubbo Demons were simply too strong for the Outlaws on Saturday, running out 15-15-105 to 7-9-51 winners on their home ground.
Demons wiped the Bushrangers men off the park in a one-sided opening quarter and the Outlaws never really recovered from the early shock to the system.
Defeat leaves the Outlaws stranded two wins behind the Bathurst Giants and Demons with as many rounds remaining in the regular season.
However, with an upcoming bye preventing the Outlaws from improving their percentage the mathematical chance of making the finals exists but it isn't a realistic shot.
Outlaws co-coach Steve Grundy said the Demons were dialled in from the opening minute.
"It's one of the better teams we've fielded this year and we went in there feeling like we had a good chance," he said.

"Dubbo were red hot right from the start, got on top in the midfield early and their tackling pressure was fantastic.
"We probably couldn't get our hands on the footy enough. We were doing a lot of unrewarded running, always chasing.
"It was always going to be tough after being six goals down in the first quarter."
The Demons racked up 39 points in the opening term at the expense of just a single Outlaws behind.
Bushrangers gave themselves an outside shot at a comeback when they narrowly outscored the hosts in the second quarter, but Dubbo resurgence after half-time put that idea to bed quickly.
"Some blokes played great - Adrian Hickey was fantastic and Scott Jablonskis had a blinder - but Dubbo were really good all around the ground," Grundy said.
"Our midfield was still really good but Dubbo got the upper hand early. When you're that far behind early on it just makes the job too hard for you."
