Somers is also a key member of the Western Rams representative league tag team, someone who leads by example when in the green and white and helps develop the region's best emerging talents.
On Saturday at Yass when the Rams competed at the Opens League Tag Country Championships in the Southern Pool, Somers' play making skills and strong kicking game were a highlight for the Rams.
She scored 12 points across the day and Rams coach Jess Skinner hailed her "impeccable leadership".

Skinner was also impressed with Somers' fellow Saint Meredith Jones and Bathurst Panthers talent Amy Hotham.
"We had some injuries in the second game but they just knew what to do," Skinner said. "I've got to give a shout out to them because they're not only unbelievable talents, they nurtured the young girls in the side.
"It makes me very proud. You go back five years and we weren't sure where this would be going but now you look at what we started and they're willing to keep it going in the Western Rams. They share their knowledge and experience and put time into it. That's what I'm most proud of.
"They're there for the right reasons."
