It's a special kind of joy Phoebe Betts got to experience last Wednesday night when she steered Sophie Brown to victory ahead of father Graham (on Dinosaurus Rex) and brother Jed (on Limbo Larry).
Betts, 16, has been working with her family's stable and taking part in mini-trots ever since kindergarten, and all that work led to her big breakthrough last Wednesday.
And she did it in style, mowing down Tretyakov (Robbie Morris) with a big turn of foot inside the final 100 metres.
"It was great to get the first win on my home track and great to beat dad and Jed in the same race," Betts laughed.
"I've always grown up with horses and done mini-trotting for the first time probably when I was four or five. Mum [Monica] was into the show side of things with horses and dad's always been a part of it too. It's run through the blood.

"I've been doing work with the horses for about five years now, helping mum and dad out as well as the Turnbulls.
"It's great having all the family involved. Everyone loves working together."
The Bathurst driver has three more drives on her home track this Wednesday as she chases win number two.
Betts has the drive again on the Mark Fletcher-trained Sophie Brown but the mare is likely to line up as a more fancied chance compared to her run last week.
Betts' claim has helped the Four Starzzz Shark mare fall under the rating cap for the Reliance Bank Pace (1,730 metres), and it makes Sophie Brown one of the top contenders in the opening event of the meeting.
There's no second row start for her this time.
With a start from gate five Sophie Brown has the chance to take up the running of the outside line.
Her best competition looks to be coming from Peter Trevor-Jones' last-start winner Grecian Holiday and John O'Shea's Rewards Series heat winner Pure Charisma.
Betts is hopeful her contender can replicate the speed she showed in winning last week's Ballinger Transport Pace (2,260m).
"She just needs a bit of luck," she said.
"It's not a bad draw. A lot of it will depend on what happens early. I appreciate getting the drive back and hopefully we can go back-to-back."
Betts has drives on her mother's runners Arma Augustus and Esther Burns later in the meeting.
The night includes four NSW Breeders Challenge Regional Heats for two and three-year-old colts, geldings and fillies.
The Reliance Bank Pace gets the meeting underway from 5.07pm.
