The Bathurst District Football graduate still got to test his skills against some of the game's big names in Suzhou, China on Tuesday in the pre-season friendly between the two clubs.
Grant looked as if he had provided the assist for the A-League champions to go ahead in 36th minute when heading a cross to Sydney team-mate Milos Ninkovic for a tap in.
Unfortunately, Grant was ruled to be offside in build up.
"For me personally it's a great experience to play against one of the biggest clubs in the world and some of the best players in the world," Grant said. "So for me personally it's great and I know the boys are the same.

Goals from world stars Kylian Mbappe, Edison Cavani and Metehan Guclu secured the win for PSG, but Sydney coach Steve Corica still saw positives.
"Tonight we did hurt them a few times with penetrating passes and forward runs in behind the defence," he said.
"I think our attack was quite good, we lacked scoring goals but we created the chances and I was pleased that we created the chances.
"Defensively they're a good team and they work hard for each other. You can see they're quality and they've got quality all over the park."
The next assignment for Grant and his Sydney FC team-mates comes at Leichhardt Stadium on Wednesday night when facing Brisbane Roar in the FFA Cup.
Sydney FC went down to Adelaide United in the final of that national knock-out competition last year, so Grant is hungry to go one better this time.
"We're a pretty ambitious club and we want to win as many trophies as we can," he said.
