Although the preliminary final will be held at Waratahs, the Giants are still confident being the only team to have defeated the Tigers on home turf this season.
Long-term Giants player Josh Broes said the mood is positive among the Giants camp.
"It will be tough playing them on their home turf, they'll have the crowd behind them but we are backing ourselves this week," he said.
"When we're at our best we play really well as a team and we are really starting to hit our strides."
Having made it this far last year only to go down to the Tigers, the Giants are determined not to let history repeat itself.

"I think we are probably playing better than we were last year, we had a few fresh faces join the team this year and they're all good players," Broes said.
Growing up in Victoria, the home of AFL, Broes developed a love for the sport at an early age, beginning his football career at the age of five.
"I do think that AFL is the best sport around, I guess it is like a religion in Victoria so I had no choice really but to love it," Broes said.

Broes has been with the Giants since the team formed, having played with them in their first match.
"It would be pretty amazing to win the grand final, it would be a great reward for how much we have improved as a team from when we started to where we are now," Broes said.
If the Giants win this Saturday they will progress to the grand final for the first time where they will face their local rivals the Bathurst Bushrangers Rebels.
