Bespoke and Co Bathurst is set to sell furniture made from recycled timber, but it's also set to be a place where local artists can display and sell their work.
Bespoke and Co was launched on Saturday, one of four businesses owned by Bathurst couple AJ and Nick Cook, the other three being NJC Building, T and B Bespoke Furniture and Western Concrete Polishing.
The new business is looking to be a way to give back to the farmers that are struggling through drought.
"All our furniture that we'll sell is made from salvaged timber that comes from factories of farmers," AJ Cook explained.
"We pay the farmer for the wood and then we make it into furniture. It's a way we can support farmers and it helps the environment, as we're saving the wood from being burnt.
"This space will be a place to sell the furniture, but also a place for local artists to sell their works, wares, painting or plants."
Ms Cook also plans to use her new shop - located at 23 Keppel Street - as a place for art workshops.
"People can come and learn how to make clay earrings and flower arrangements and there'll be dads and kids workshops too," she said.
The Bespoke and Co building was originally a bakery, attached to the old flour mill and Ms Cook said the setting of her new business is perfect.
"I've always loved Keppel Street, I think it's the heart of Bathurst," she said.
"I've always loved that building, so I was so excited when I heard it was available."
Planned for November too is a special night, where people can meet and speak with the makers of the artwork on display.
Tickets will be made available for the event, with light refreshments and nibbles on the night. Details on the date will be released via the Facebook page @bespokeandcobathurst.
Normal opening hours for Bespoke and Co will be 9.30am to 5.30pm on Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
Doors will be open on the weekend too, from 9.30am to 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.
