An emergency fire danger risk was in place across the NSW Rural Fire Service's (RFS) Chifley/Lithgow zone with firefighters on high alert across Bathurst, Oberon and Lithgow.
Earlier this week NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian declared a week-long state of emergency to give additional powers to the RFS to fight fires.
Firefighters are still working to defend properties at Isabella, south of Bathurst, after a blaze ignited at 12.27pm.
The bushfire was burning near Ben Ledi Road and fire investigators had been called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
"It's burning 1.5 kilometres west of Isabella Road and there's properties near there," Chifley/Lithgow RFS operational officer Gary Hansen said.
"We've got 15 appliance [fire trucks] out there right now, along with two dozers and two aircraft."
Mr Hansen said wind gusts of up to 80km/h are hampering firefighters' efforts to get control of the bushfire.
"It's not contained and we've got strong winds and the wind is changing direction because the [southerly] change is coming through," he said.
RFS crews were also called to a small grass fire on Tuesday which ignited at 1.23pm after a tree fell down and clashed with power lines.
The fire occurred at Mount David and was less than one hectare in size.
A third call out to Wallerawang for reports of a bushfire proved to be a false alarm.
Bathurst RFS crews also remain on scene at a 32,385 hectare blaze burning through the Wollemi National Park in the Lithgow government area.
Known at the Gospers Mountain fire, it was at emergency alert level late on Tuesday with the blaze just four kilometres from Putty.
"The fire is threatening the areas north of Culoul and south of Fleetwing," the RFS alert stated.
The blaze has been burning for more than two weeks after it ignited on October 26 during a dry lightning storm that passed through the region.
There is a very high fire danger rating for Bathurst on Wednesday with a total fire ban in place.
