On the back of International Volunteers Day, which was marked on December 5, the Seymour Centre had a quiet celebration of its staff on Tuesday.
CEO Terisa Ashworth said it was an opportunity to not only celebrate their work, but to inform some of their clients about all the different ways people contribute to the centre.
"We're very fortunate, we've got very good quality staff and they tend to stay with us, and we just wanted to do something special for them and hence we thought we would have a lovely cake for afternoon tea and share it with our clients," she said.
"We had the opportunity to talk about each staff member and what they bring to us."
The centre has 12 staff members, and is also supported by more than 40 other volunteers.
Staff help in a number of ways, including running activities and programs, providing meals and doing administrative work.

Ms Ashworth said some have clocked up significant time at the centre, with one staff member having been there for the last decade, and others having served for six years and four years.
"It's pretty outstanding I think, they do a great job," she said.
Adding to the day, the Seymour Centre welcomed a new staff member, Annalee, to the family.
"She's going to be the volunteer coordinator, so it's a nice start for her on her first day," Ms Ashworth said.
