It came in the form of his batting analysis of Travis Head.
While the Sheffield Shield season is on a break, star New South Wales seamer Copeland has been spending time as part of the 7Cricket commentary team.
He provides analysis on all aspects of the game - something which has earned him wide praise.
When Copeland looked at Head's technique from the first Test against New Zealand, Australian coach Justin Langer was one of those who saw it.
He was so impressed he used Copeland's insights to aid Head.
It worked as he went on to be named man-of-the-match in the second Test at the MCG thanks to his first innings knock of 114 after coming in at number six.
"In Perth Copes put a package together of Travis Head and not being able to transfer his weight through the ball, he's on the move, his eyes are on the move," Copeland's fellow commentator Simon Katich said.
"That package got sent to Justin Langer who heard about it. Travis Head went away, practised this in the week between Tests with his coach Tim Nielson.
"This [was] the result at the MCG. Hitting the ball under his eye-line, getting a good stride in and transferring his weight through the ball."

Copeland also pointed out how Head's adjustments helped him to his second Test century and set up Australia's series clinching win.
"This Test in Melbourne, he has really got his weight going back through the ball and it's translated to a lot more off-side scoring," he pointed out.
"As he's scoring well, it's tougher and tougher for the New Zealand bowlers to restrict him ... everything is working in sync. He is pushing off the back leg, on to the front leg, everything is in sync."
