SASC, who collected 24 points from the three 110 overs matches and three Twenty20 matches, placed behind South Island team Otago Boys High School, who collected 28 points to be ranked the number one team.
And while SASC may have missed out on being crowned champions, two players picked up individual rewards for their performances.
SASC captain Ben Cant was named as one of eight players Most Valuable Players recipients.
His tour highlights include 68 runs against Otago Boys and three wickets against Wakapitu High in the opening match of the tour.
SASC wicket-keeper Angus Rendall also received an individual accolade - the Canyon Swing Sportsmanship Award.
Rendall took a catch as wicket-keeper which was given out by the square leg umpire, however, he told the umpire he hadn't caught it and invited the batsman back.
SASC coach Phil Cant said that while his side didn't win the tournament, it was a huge success.
"The tour was a great success and the boys all contributed in a wonderful team effort," he said.
"The feature of our play was our outstanding fielding. We were by far the best fielding team in the competition."
SASC opened its New Zealand campaign with a seven wicket win over Wakatipu, followed by a Twenty20 win against John McGlashen by eight wickets.
In the third game, SASC cruised to a big nine-wicket Twenty20 over Otago Boys but due to bad lighting in the fourth match against Southland Boys, the match was cancelled and the Kiwi side won on a superior run rate.
St Bedes College were next up for SASC, but the Bathurst school were just too good, winning by 68 runs in an 110 overs match.
SASC won the final game against John McGlashen by 69 runs in an 110 overs match.
