Since Phoebe Betts steered Sophie Brown to victory last July she has enjoyed plenty more positives in the gig, but that moment is one she is still quick to remind her family members about.
"Funnily enough, that's where Phoebe got her first winner when she first started driving. It was pretty early on when she first started and she came out and beat both of us," Jedd Betts said.
"She had a bit of a laugh about that. She didn't really let us live that down."
On Wednesday night Phoebe Betts will take the reins of Abercrombie Tab, a 166-start veteran trained by her mother Monica, in the Norm, Garth and Audrey Harkham Memorial (1,730 metres).
Graham Betts will be there too, hoping his runner If Hes Lucky can live up to his name and post his first win since saluting at Dubbo in August last year.
For Jedd Betts, it will be Limbo Larry which holds his chances. The memorial will mark his 213th career start, but the seven-year-old is still proving handy for his The Lagoon trainer with six placings from 16 starts this season.
"He has been going super. He's a little legend actually, he's a little consistent sort of thing, he's nothing too amazing, but he's consistent," Jed Betts said.
"He's been unreal for me, without him I probably wouldn't be still going. He's the only one I sort of have myself, then I just help Dad out as much as I can.
"Dad's got about eight racing, which is a lot for him ... and Mum's got five or six."

While Abercrombie Tab (barrier three, $41), If Hes Lucky (barrier six, $67) and Limbo Larry (barrier eight, $41) are outsiders in the memorial, Jedd Betts said there will still be banter when they're warming up.
"When I'm in the parade ring I definitely always give Dad and Phoebe a bit of banter sort of stuff," he laughed.
"When I'm warming up, he's got one or two which pull pretty hard sort of thing. They're alright if they are by themselves, but if another horse comes up beside they get a bit silly, so I usually go up beside Graham and give him a bit of a whistle just to make it a little bit harder on him. I get a bit of a laugh out of that."
Banter aside, Jedd admits if it is not his Abercrombie Dexter x Andreas Ace gelding Limbo Larry that springs a surprise and ends a winless run dating back to June 1 last year, he hopes his father or sister manage it.
"It's always good to see them win, it's good to see them get over the line first. We've been pretty lucky the last year or so, we've had a couple of honest ones going around," he said.
The battle of the Betts' is set for 6.37pm.
