A MAN has faced court on a swag of charges after police found a stash of firearms allegedly hidden in the bullbar of his vehicle.

At 10.30am on Tuesday officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District, assisted by the dog unit, conducted a search on a home on Ferris Street at Clandulla, between Bathurst and Mudgee.
During the firearm prohibition search, officers located a Toyota LandCruiser inside a shed at the rear of the property.
Upon searching the LandCruiser, two firearms - a Winchester .22 calibre rifle and a side by side double barrel shot gun - as well as ammunition and a silencer were located, allegedly concealed within the bullbar.
A 68-year-old man was arrested and taken to Mudgee Police Station.
He was charged with 12 offences including:
- Two counts of possess unregistered firearm-not prohibited firearm/pistol
- Two counts of possess unauthorised firearm
- Two counts of not keep firearm safely-not prohibited firearm/pistol
- Two counts of Acquire etc firearm - subject to prohibition order
- Use, supply, acquire or possess defaced firearm
- Possess ammunition w/o holding licence/permit/authority
- Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit
- Use prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order
The man was also charged with breaching his bail conditions.
He was refused bail and appeared at Mudgee Local Court on Wednesday.
