President of the arts council, Wendy-Lou Tisdell said there are a range of categories people can enter into, including needlework, wool or yarn items, felting, paper craft, and beadwork or jewellery.
There is also a category specifically for children, which they can enter any craft work into.
"I think the junior section is going to be bigger this year because we are allowing anything except for art. Art is for our art competition," Ms Tisdell said.
The craft competition will be held on Saturday, March 21 at the former Evans Shire Council building in Lee Street, Kelso.
Entries need to be in around a week prior to the competition.

Ms Tisdell said judging for each category will be done on the Friday and prize winners will be contacted.
The only award not to be decided that night is People's Choice, which will be done on Saturday during the exhibition.
"Anybody that comes through the door can fill out the People's Choice form," Ms Tisdell said.
