The new Public Health Order was introduced in response to the coronavirus crisis and has so far seen NSW Police issue 11 court attendance notices and 136 penalty infringement notices.
Officers attached to Chifley Police District were patrolling in Bathurst about 8am on Tuesday when they saw a man walking on the footpath.

The updated Public Health Order makes it an offence for NSW residents to leave their homes except in specific circumstances.
As stated in the order, legitimate reasons include obtaining food or other goods or services; travelling for the purposes of work or education if the person cannot do it at home; exercise; and medical or caring reasons.
