The Fosteris family were among millions of people across Australia adhering to government isolation rules during the Easter long weekend to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
But, with Karmichael's birthday on Easter Sunday, his family knew they had to do something special.
His father Chris erected a giant sign outside their George Street home that read: 'Honk it's Karmichael's 7th birthday'.
"I think about 19 people honked," birthday boy Karmichael said.
However, his parents Chris and Nicole said it was actually many more with motorists honking, beeping, waving and singing outside their home from 6.30am until 8pm.
Neighbours walked past to say happy birthday, while a few special visitors also drove by during the celebration.
"My football team [the Bathurst Giants] brought me a new beanie," Karmichael said.
"Also someone that I didn't know gave me a dream catcher."

At one stage the family suddenly heard a siren out the front of their home.
Karmichael said the policeman came to wish him a happy birthday and that "he didn't have a horn so he put the siren on".
The honking may have been out the front, but inside Karmichael, his sister Allegra, 8, and their parents celebrated with fine food - doughnuts, fairy bread, lollies, hot dogs and green coloured 'Hulk juice' (cordial).
"I ate some Mentos, one chocolate, two bits of fairy bread, two doughnuts and a hot dog," Karmichael said.
While in backyard, the family had set up their caravan, camping chairs and gas heater so they could have a camping trip at home.
"It was really good because I got time with my family and I got to watch Sherlock Gnomes and Incredibles 2," Karmichael said of his birthday party.
