But now it a dream which has been put on hold due to the coronavirus panademic, current restrictions in England mean Trevor-Jones is only allowed outside an hour each day.
It is without a doubt a frustration for the Bathurst District Cricket Association graduate, but Trevor-Jones is still hopeful cricket in England will go ahead at some stage this year.
"I was really looking forward to playing in the Notts Premier League this year, so I'm optimistic we will get some cricket in from late July onward," he said.
"The lock down has obviously caused a major disruption, as the county season was due to start in April.
"County clubs are all managing the situation differently, but everything is basically on hold until we get a potential start date from the ECB [England Cricket Board].
"At this stage, late July looks promising as England has a two-Test series planned this season, which I'm sure they are keen to go ahead."
If cricket does go ahead in England, it will mark another important milestone in Trevor-Jones' cricket career.
It highlights just how far he has come since the days he played club cricket in Bathurst for ORC and Bathurst City.

Trevor-Jones spent five seasons with Hawkesbury then in season 2013-14, made the move to Sydney University.
He went on to play more than 130 games for Sydney Uni - the most recent in January - during which time he has amassed more than 2,500 runs and enjoyed title success as well.
But last year, looking for a new challenge, Trevor-Jones also signed as the overseas player for Teddington Cricket Club.
He played 17 games in the Middlesex Premier League, scoring five half centuries and one ton - a 105 not out - for the club.
"We ended up fifth or sixth in the league. We started really well but just couldn't keep it going for the duration," he said.
While missing the finals, that stint in England led to bigger things. It led to a dream job working for Derbyshire.
"I was keen to get some experience in sport whilst I was based in the UK, so I got in touch with Derbyshire as they had their assistant physio position advertised," Trevor-Jones said.
"They were happy for me to just cover the fixtures, so I could still be based in London to play for my club team then travel during the week to cover second XI fixtures.
"I was back in Sydney over the summer and played with Sydney Uni up until late January. [But] Derbyshire offered me a full-time position as academy and pathway physio, so I decided to take it on.
"In season, all the pathway and academy fixtures are mid-week so it doesn't restrict me playing on the weekends.
"It was a tough decision to leave Sydney Uni as I love playing there and we've had so much success over the past few seasons."
Being free to play on weekends, Trevor-Jones signed up to play for Papplewick and Linby CC in Nottinghamshire Premier League. He hopes he gets to pad up soon.
