For the week ending April 19, Bathurst had the best average price for unleaded fuel out of the Central West locations monitored by the NRMA.
With its average of 106.5 cents per litre, Bathurst narrowly beat out Lithgow for the title by 0.9 cents per litre.
In more good news, Bathurst's average price for unleaded had fallen 10.9 cents from the previous week.
Bathurst also had the second-best price for diesel, 121.2 cents per litre, in the Central West, with it just 0.1 cents more expensive than the best average price, which was in Orange.
The price also meant Bathurst was the third-cheapest location for diesel in the state, beaten out only by Orange and Moruya.
The news comes just after two Bathurst retailers dropped their prices drastically.
Both Metro Petroleum retailers dropped their price for unleaded fuel to below $1, offering it for 91.7 cents per litre.
Their decision has seemingly influenced other retailers, with almost every retailer now offering unleaded for under $1.
However, the Metros are still about five cents cheaper than most retailers.
The NRMA has advised that global factors could see prices fall further.
"Australian motorists should see further fuel price falls in the order of seven to 10 cents per litre over the coming two weeks," it said.
