As of 10am on Friday, according to the Western NSW Local Health District, just three people in Western NSW remained sick with the virus.
That was down from five people at 10am on Wednesday.
In the two days since, a person ill with the virus in Bathurst has recovered and a person ill with the virus in Dubbo has done the same.
The three people still sick with the virus are in the Mid-Western council area (two) and Orange council area (one).
Bathurst now has nine cases of COVID-19 that have recovered and no active cases.
Western NSW, meanwhile, has had 45 confirmed cases of COVID-19 overall.
The region recorded one death earlier this month.
Across Australia, of the 6670 diagnosed COVID-19 cases, there are fewer than 1600 active cases left.
Nationwide there have been 77 deaths from the virus, including 34 in NSW.
A Western NSW LHD spokeswoman said it was critical that communities in the region continue to practice social distancing to minimise the risk of the transmission of COVID-19.
"This is important for everyone, but particularly for older people and people with health conditions that make them more vulnerable," she said.
"It's also important that we protect our health care workers who we need to stay well to provide care to people who become sick with COVID-19."
