It was announced on June 2 by the NSW Government that from Saturday, June 13, fitness, gymnasiums, pilates, yoga and dance studios could reopen with up to 10 people per class and 100 people in an indoor venue.
The four-square metre rule must always be applied.
And while the centre didn't reopen until June 15, centre manager Taylor Sargent said it's exciting to be finally reopening after almost 12 weeks of being shut.
"It was very exciting," Sargent said on hearing the news that the centre could reopen.
"It's been so long with no news, so to get it, it was really, really good to hear that we could reopen and that we had a date."
While other gyms and martial arts centre have been running some sort of outdoor fitness classes in the past (that was the only kind of face-to-face classes that could be offered prior to Saturday's easing of restrictions), Precision Martial Arts opted not to due to the change of seasons.
"We did think about it, but it's a bit cold outside and we're coming into flu season and most of our students are kids so we didn't want to put them at risk," Sargent said.
"We just stuck with doing online classes."
Sargent said the feedback from members has been great.
"We did a Facebook post a couple of days ago [about reopening] and the reception was great," she said.
"We had a few comments on there and a couple of parents called me saying it was fantastic and the kids are absolutely jumping out of their skins to get back to training.
"We've had a really positive response."
Owing to the facility's space, the centre can offer three classes at once.
"We've got a fairly big venue. We're pretty lucky in that respect," Sargent said.
"We have started taking bookings. I have been flat out and haven't been able to check how many but I'd say we'd have a couple of classes already full."
There are some rules and restrictions in place at the centre in accordance with the government's coronavirus policy, which can be viewed by visiting the Precision Martial Arts' Facebook page @precisionbx.
