A double feature of The Notebook and Dirty Dancing will mark the return of the Bathurst Drive-In on Saturday, July 4, followed by two weeks of nightly sessions.
The drive-in will close on Sunday, July 19 with the movie for the night to be decided by a public vote.
The drive-in theatre is the major attraction on this year's festival itinerary following a major revamp in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Gone this year will be the Winter Playground, including the popular Bathurst Ice Rink in King's Parade and Russell Street, and in its place will be a drive-in cinema and home-based Illuminations light displays.
Tickets to the drive-in will go on sale from Monday and mayor Bobby Bourke has encouraged families to make the most of it.
"McDonald's Bathurst has supported the Bathurst Winter Festival in previous years by sponsoring the ice rink and I'm very pleased this partnership will continue," Cr Bourke said.
"The drive-in will offer a nostalgic, yet new experience for our community to enjoy some of their favourite movies."
Tickets will be sold as single car admissions, with each car allowed as many passengers as is legally permissible.
All tickets must be pre-purchased and there will be a limit of 100 tickets for each session.
Tickets will be $45 for a single session screening and $80 for the Saturday night double feature.
Other film favourites to be screened across the two weeks are retro favourites Karate Kid (1984) and The Graduate (1967), Mad Max 2, Mad Max Fury Road, Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, horror classic The Shining and family fodder including Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Wonder and The Emoji Movie.
