New to the ranks of the Giants this season, Germech has already forged a reputation of being a player who brings it on game day.
That's exactly what she did in the cold, mud and rain at George Park 1 against the Demons.
"Keira Germech is just getting better and better every week. She was just outstanding and can read the play so well," Giants coach Liz Kennedy said.
"She is playing on the half-forward line, she plays nice and wide. She can just really anticipate play and is in the right spot at the right time.
"She was registered to play with Randwick this year, but because she is working from home this year because of COVID, she has signed up with us. We are so glad she did, it is a bonus."
Earlier in the season little had separated the Giants and Demons in atrocious conditions at Dubbo and while the weather was only slightly better this time around, the quality of the contest was high.
"It was one of the best games of women's footy that has been played, the Dubbo coach said exactly the same thing," Kennedy said.
"Considering the conditions, the skills that were out there were incredible and it was just such a hard game.
"We worked on a few different tactics throughout the week, making sure the girls got their hands on the footy, and it really worked. Dubbo, they came ready to play, they wanted to beat us, by my girls just really stood up."
Dubbo was up by two points at the first change, but the Giants booted the only two majors of the second quarter for a 3-0-18 to 1-4-10 lead.
The margin had increased to 11 by three-quarter-time, but in that final term the Giants restricted Dubbo to just a pair of behinds to seal the win.
"We just needed to man up, we sort of weren't marking tight enough and let them get away. Once we fixed that we were good," Kennedy said of her quarter-time message.
"It was just so rewarding, it was the best game of footy and the girls were just so happy."
Aside from the efforts of Germech, who was voted players' player, another Giants newcomer in Amy Schmidt impressed. The return of Jayarna Kay was also an asset.
