Firefighters received an emergency call at 8am with reports that a home on Rocket street was on fire.
Two trucks of firefighters, police and ambulance crews responded to the home which was near the corner of Ophir Street.
"Residents were here using garden hoses trying to knock it [the fire] out," Fire and Rescue NSW Inspector Timothy Climo said."
The fire started in the front room of the single-level house, but had started spreading into the roof.
"It was extinguished after about 15 minutes," he said.
"There was one female occupant and she has been taken to hospital with smoke inhalation."
Inspector Climo said the woman, who was aged in her 30s, had a very lucky escape and was actually in the shower at the time the fire broke out.
"Her dog was barking and she came out and the house was filled with smoke," he said.
The dog was uninjured in the fire.
Inspector Climo said at this stage crews believe the fire may have been started by an electrical fault.
"There was a lot of computer equipment the room, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation," he said.
More to come.
