Tipsy Creations, an initiative of Bathurst-based artist Joanna Wu, is set to host a workshop at The George Hotel this Thursday inviting attendees to paint a pop art-inspired portrait of a 'mate or date.'
"The workshop invites people to create a vibrant portrait of a friend while enjoying a couple of drinks," Ms Wu said.
"To make things easy, people are invited to send in a high resolution photo of their subject, where I then draft an outline on each canvas to assist people through the creative process."
Ms Wu, who moved to Bathurst from Sydney earlier this year, started Tipsy Creations with a vision to bring people together to create "fun art, not fine art."
"A lot of people look at art and think it's beyond their level of skill, and I just want to make it easy for them," Ms Wu said.
"Prior to this, I was a high school art teacher, and ironically most people who have come thus far have said high school was the last time they practised art."
Ms Wu commenced the workshops shortly before the COVID-19 lockdown, and has, so far, covered everything from pop art pets to flowers and landscapes.
"There's limited spots due to COVID restrictions, but it's nice to see the workshops picking back up again after lockdown," she said.
Tipsy Creations also caters for private events and commissions custom artworks by request.
The workshop will get under way this Thursday at 7pm. Tickets cost $85 and for more information, visit tipsycreations.com.au or the Tipsy Creations Facebook page.
