Widening the Great Western Highway over the Blue Mountains is a token gesture and it won't make it faster for the good folk of Central West to get product to/from ports.
It can't - because all along the Great Western Highway are multiple varying speed zones, traffic lights, school zones, pedestrian crossings, intersections ... you all know the score. This will never change.

No thinking individual in the Upper Blue Mountains wants this because we know far better than you that it will be a failure and a massive waste of taxpayer dollars.
So how about you just give us the safety upgrade we were promised in 2016, then take the rest of the money and put it towards making things easier for the folk on the land.
Look at addressing problems closer to home for them; there is plenty still to be done.
Take your time and come up with a better idea for getting their product to market faster.
They deserve so much better from you.
And we Blue Mountains folk don't want all your fancy road-widening schemes with Extra Lanes That Go Nowhere.
Just give Medlow Bath the safety upgrade you promised in 2016 and a farewell wave and we'll be happy.
Take care of our primary producers - they are the backbone of this country and they deserve more than pollie-speak and doomed-to-fail vote-catching schemes.
