With Mudgee chasing the students for the minor premiership the CSU women will need to continue their trend of improvement in the upcoming game.
The previous clash with the Boars is an important one for CSU to look back on, considering it exposed one of their recurring weaknesses this season - slow starts.
Coach Daniel Adamson said everyone involved in that game will remember that the difference in the quality between the first and second halves were night and day.
"Last game against Parkes in Parkes we came out of the gates playing horrifically and I gave the my first half-time spray, and I'd never done that before in my life
"They then went out and put 30 points on them in the second half, which was a really good response to that. I think though that Parkes were a very new side who haven't played much football before.
"We knew that the next time we'd play them that they would be a much better side because they all looked quite handy. That had some good size and some speed out the back so we will not be taking this game lightly.
"Hopefully the girls' heads will be on straight because our starts this year have been slow. We've usually found the next gear in the third quarter but we've got to make a better start."
CSU are a little football starved after a couple of weeks out of action.
The next few weeks will be all about building up momentum as they look to enter the grand final on the front foot.
"We had an opposed contact session last Thursday so we haven't lost too much in contact, and they're confident in the way they're playing," Adamson said.
"We're looking forward to seeing how they've progressed from their last game against Mudgee, which was a really great performance.
"Women's rugby is a sport on the up, and we had a lot of players join who haven't played before, but we're lucky that we have a few girls with experience who are great leaders."
