HE may not have the Bathurst 1000 experience of many of his rivals, but Tickford driver Jack Le Brocq still knows that Mount Panorama is a place where "anything can happen".

The 28-year-old is set to make his sixth start in the 161-lap endurance epic this year as the lead driver of Tickford's Supercheap Auto Racing Ford Mustang.
His co-driver James Moffat made his Great Race debut five years before he first tackled the Great Race, while Tickford's other lead drivers Cameron Waters (eight prior starts), Lee Holdsworth (16 prior starts) and James Courtney (14 prior starts) all have more experience than Le Brocq as well.
However, Le Brocq still knows all about the unpredictable nature of racing at the Mount.
His Great Race debut in 2015 lasted 135 laps, Le Brocq watching on from screens in the pits as lead driver Ash Walsh crashed their Erebus Mercedes at The Cutting.
The following year Le Brocq shared a seat with Waters and while he was not the biggest name co-driver he certainly impressed. He topped the fourth practice session with a 2:05.954 lap, while in the race itself the pair ran a surprise fourth.
Since then he's had another top 10 result and been off the pace in 15th and 17th - a run of results which has taught him the unexpected can and will happen.
"I think Bathurst is a crazy one, it's anything can happen and you really just need to be I suppose in that top five or six in that last stint and it can all come together," he said.
"We've worked pretty hard to have a nice solid, consistent race car and I'll try to stay out of trouble."
Season 2020 has already delivered positives for Le Brocq as he won his maiden Supercars race at the Sydney SuperSprint in July and picked up a second at The Bend last month.
He hopes he can add another podium at Bathurst, which will act as the Supercars season finale, even though he and Moffat are rated a 34-1 chance of victory.
"We are starting to make some real good progress as the year rolls on. The last few rounds have been I suppose moving forward up the grid and having a podium there at Tailem Bend one was pretty cool," he said.
"So yeah, coming up to the right part of the year so hopefully we can carry that momentum into Bathurst, anything is possible there."
The event runs October 15-18, with the Great Race starting 11.30am on the Sunday.
