I've got relations down in Bathurst who go to Sydney every six weeks on business.
For some reason, they drive instead of using the Bullet, so they put up with that horrible stop and start drive across the Blue Mountains and then the Sydney traffic.

They come back the same day, so it's a long one for them.
I think that saving 10 kilometres or so with that bypass idea would be such a bonus for people like them.
Has this idea been studied by the transport people?
