The Neighbourhood Centre [TNC] has found a deserving winner for their World Kindness Day mobility scooter giveaway in 87-year-old Richard Webster, a recent stroke-sufferer who has developed mobility difficulties.

Mr Webster received the $4000 scooter last week after The Neighbouhood Centre, along with promotion partners Bathurst Rotary Club, deemed his case the most deserving.
Tracey Hicks, Mr Webster's daughter, said he's usually an active person with a busy social life, but his recent stroke has caused difficulty in getting around town.
"The mobility scooter will allow Dad to roam the community with independence, not having to rely on people to get him places," Ms Hicks said.
"It is also safer than having him drive."
The mobility scooter was donated to the cause by Irene Browning, a client of Bathurst Rotarian Chris Bennett through his business, Abroearth.
TNC service manager Therese Short said the giveaway complements the organisation's programs supporting people to remain and live independently in their homes.
"Both us and Rotary believe in an inclusive community and a world with more kindness, so we asked the participants that once the scooter is no longer required that it be donated back, so its the gift that keeps on giving," Ms Short said.
To participate in the competition, people shared their stories of life and how winning the scooter may benefit their wellbeing.
