The ribbon has been officially cut on the revamped sports courts at the village, north of Bathurst.
It follows the completion of Telstra small cell base stations at Wattle Flat and Sofala earlier this year to improve mobile phone coverage in the area.
Calare MP Mr Gee and Bathurst mayor Bobby Bourke were joined by members of the Wattle Flat Progress Association and Wattle Flat residents at a Christmas barbecue to mark the opening of the revamped sports courts.

Mr Gee said the Wattle Flat community had worked tirelessly to secure the funding for the upgrade.
"The new sport courts will provide an enormous boost to the local community and it wouldn't have been possible without the ongoing efforts of the Wattle Flat Progress Association," he said.
"The association were awarded $200,000 in vital Australian Government funding through the Community Sport Infrastructure Program and an additional $157,950 from the Bathurst Regional Council to get this project off the ground.

"The new sports courts, which have been upgraded with a synthetic surface, will now host local tennis matches and soccer, netball and basketball games.
"This year has been challenging for all Australians, and we must not underestimate the heavy physical and mental toll it has taken on many in our communities.
"That is why sport is so important; it is a wonderful way to come together, unwind and keep healthy - it is a proven de-stressor."
With the summer holidays just around the corner, Mr Gee said the Wattle Flat sport courts could not have opened at a better time.
"This great sporting facility, along with the new mobile phone coverage at Wattle Flat and Sofala, will renew people's interest in moving to the area, which is great news," he said.
"It all helps decentralisation and growth in country communities."
Cr Bourke said the upgraded sports courts "will provide the community with a place to meet and also promotes and encourages fitness and a healthy lifestyle".
