People came together at Mount Panorama on Friday to pack hampers for the families who have signed up to receive them.
"Numbers have been down this year, but that has been happening, it seems, across all sorts of sectors for some reason," 2BS director Janeen Hosemans said.
"We would have thought it might have been more this year, but we'll end up packing 850 hampers."
The packing was done by community members, the Lions Club of Bathurst and the Rotary Club, as well as staff from Westfund Health Insurance, Bathurst City Centre, and 2BS/B-Rock.
Around 40 people were in the pit complex, with numbers limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
They worked in a moving assembly line to get the hampers packed as quickly as possible.
The hampers include a great range of products that will help families get through the Christmas period.
"We've got lovely peaches, we've got custard, we've got cream, Christmas cake, Mars have kindly donated chocolates, Edgell have donated product as they do every year," Ms Hosemans said.
"There's some nice cordial in there, chips, so lots of stuff."

Many of the goods were purchased from Bernadi's at cost with the money that had been raised during the appeal, and Bernadi's also donated the freight.
Bathurst City Centre contributed the bags that the food has been packed into, while Westfund also made a substantial donation to the appeal.
This year marks the 51st Christmas Miracle Appeal and Ms Hosemans is thrilled the tradition has been able to continue for so long.
"It's fantastic. It's very much part of who 2BS is in the community, and this is just a wonderful demonstration of what you can do when everyone pulls together," she said.
Traditionally, the hampers are delivered to families once the packing is complete, but that won't be able to happen this year due to the pandemic.
Instead, they will need to come to Mount Panorama on Saturday to collect them.
While it's a different process, the outcome will be the same, which is to make Christmas a little bit easier for those doing it tough.
"It makes a massive difference. They come into 2BS to order their hampers and we make them feel very comfortable about coming in, but you definitely get a sense there are many people in our community who are struggling," Ms Hosemans said.
"It is just so good to be able to help them out."
