LAST season the Redbacks were stung, but this summer they're playing with venom and Joey Coughlan could not be happier.

Bathurst City Redbacks are a unit that relishes winning, so when they only managed seventh last season in their return to Bathurst Orange Inter District Cricket it was tough to take.
Coughlan was determined to see his side respond and once more become a threat in 2020-21. He wanted his Redbacks to play semi-final cricket.
It is a goal which is certainly in reach of Redbacks after they posted an outright win over Kinross in the final round of BOIDC before the Christmas-New Year break.
"It was a huge result because there was a game which didn't get a result which helped us get up into fifth. Rugby beat Cavs so that meant we didn't sneak into that top four just before Christmas, but we're super happy to be where we are with the team we have with injuries," Coughlan said.
"The bowlers win matches and the batsmen set it up - it was just perfect."
Redbacks' bowlers were certainly impressive. Clint Moxon took nine wickets for the match, including a brilliant 7-25 on day one to see the hosts all out for 100. Jarrod Urza then took 6-20 on day two to help bundle out Kinross for 85 in their second innings.
As for batting, Craig Townsend belted a quick-fire 65 to help Redbacks to declare at the first drinks break on day two at 6-204.
Those three were Redbacks' shining lights in the big win, but Coughlan was also pleased with the way younger members of the squad performed.
"Archer Carroll did a great job for me behind the stumps and he's only 16 and Cooper Warry made his first grade debut for the club. His old man is a life member and was a founder of the club, so he got to see his young bloke debut for the club, he did really well, he's only 15," he said.
"Overall it was a really pleasing bowling performance and something we can use a platform especially when we get Ben Orme back after Christmas and Michael Tobin as well."
