Weatherzone meteorologist Craig McIntosh said Bathurst region residents can expect to see "showers within and around thunderstorms" on Monday afternoon.
"It could be hit and miss, but some places could get 20 to 30mm, while some could get one to five millimetres," he said.
In Bathurst itself, 10mm is more likely.

More rain is expected on Tuesday and could be more fruitful for the region, but, again, some areas are likely to fair significantly better than others.
"There is some model disagreement to the amount of rainfall on Tuesday. Some places may see 40-plus, but some may only see a couple of millimetres," Mr McIntosh said.
Recent forecasts for Bathurst from both Weatherzone and the Bureau of Meteorology have indicated significant rainfall for the region, but those predictions have seemingly not eventuated.
For the month to date, there has been 47.2mm of rain recorded, compared to December's long-term average of 65.3mm.
Mr McIntosh said the public forecasts can often be misleading, explaining the heaviest falls will be around thunderstorms.
Areas that miss the storms will likely miss out on the rain, too.
But Mr McIntosh said it would be unlikely for Bathurst to not get any rain over the next two days.
There is also the potential for showers later in the week.
Weatherzone is currently forecasting a 40 per cent chance of rain on Wednesday, 50 per cent on Thursday, and 90 per cent on both Friday and Saturday.
"After [Monday and Tuesday] the best chance for any decent falls will be Saturday," Mr McIntosh said.
